Los Angeles Co. Call Firefighter This is a LA County Fire Dept. patch Given to Call Firefighters (Paid-Call). We operate out of approx. 8 stations, mainly in the North LA County area, however, we do have one in the Malibu area too. We do have an academy and are CPR and first aid certified. We are either supplemental staffing engines or can be first response engines depending on the station. Our engines are all type 1 and have all of the essentials in terms of tools and hose with the related appliances. We are under the direct supervision of a regular station, usually by the B-shift Captain. The patch is worn on the left shoulder. Submitted by Eric Bollar |

Redding Founded in 1896 as a volunteer fire department, the Redding Fire Department today is a fully paid career department with over 70 personnel. The RFD provides fire/rescue services to a city of approximately 80,000 from 7 fire stations. The symbols on the patch of the Redding Fire Department represent the services provided: fire prevention (the sprinkler head), fire suppression (the hydrant, ladder and pike pole), and EMS (the star-of-life). In the center of the patch are the three Shastas: Mt. Shasta, Shasta Lake and Shasta Dam, which dominate the landscape and culture in Redding. Submitted by: Rob Nichols, Redding Fire Department |
