Qualifications necessary for becoming a fire fighter
There are certain qualifications that are guaranteed to help you with becoming a fire fighter. These include:
- Being at least 18 years old at the time of your application
- A high school diploma, or GED
- Valid driver’s license
- A clean record – no drug issues, traffic violations or felonies
Becoming a fire fighter – additional training that may help
The qualifications we’ve mentioned are all a great start, but there are other ways to stand out from the crowd. Additional qualifications useful to firefighting applicants include:
- CPAT (Candidate Physical Ability Test) card
- EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) certification
- Firefighter certification
