Requirements:

The following requirements MUST be met to be considered for the lateral transfer program:

Experience:

Must have a minimum of three (3) years’ experience as a paid, full-time certified firefighter to be considered for employment. The applicant’s prior agency service, experience and responsibilities will be taken into consideration.
Applicants must have no more than a two (2) year break in service from the time they separated from a comparable fire department (if applicable).<b
r> Certifications:

Candidates must hold a TCFP Basic (or higher) Firefighter certification or its out of state equivalent AND hold an EMT Paramedic certification from the Texas Department of State Health Services or the National Registry

AND

Must be able to obtain a Texas Class B driver’s license within 90 days of employment.

Special Filing Instructions:

Continuous Recruit – Accepting applications on a continuous basis. The testing agency may not have a position to fill at this time. They will accept your application and hold it on file for a certain amount of time.
