Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High School graduation or possession of a GED certificate.
An Associate or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college is highly desirable but not required. Other: Not less than 21 years of age at time of appointment.
A valid Alaska Driver’s License at time of appointment and for continued employment.
Certification as a State of Alaska Firefighter I or an equivalent certification as determined by the Fire Chief at time of appointment.
At time of appointment either:
1) License as a State of Alaska Mobile Intensive Care Paramedic; OR
2) Certification with the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians as a Paramedic; OR
3) Equivalent licensure in another state, province or territory. (Note: appointment will be made conditionally pending successfully completion of the written and practical examination for emergency medical technician-paramedic administered by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians by date of appointment.)
NOTE: Appointment to Firefighter – Paramedic positions will be made conditionally pending successful completion of all portions of the psychological assessment and the medical evaluation.

Applicants must complete the written examination with www.publicsafetytesting.com and submit a completed CBJ application (form Number P001), resume, criminal background check AND a driving record issued by the Department of Public Safety in the applicant’s state of residence* to the Human Resources & Risk Management Department on or before the close of business (4:30 p.m. Alaska Standard Time) on July 31st, 2017.
