The CPAT is strenuous and should be prepared for. Candidates will have the opportunity to see the CPAT layout and ask questions of the Test Proctors. Whether you attend or not, you must complete and mail in the CPAT Preview/Practice Waiver. Also, we strongly recommend that you download and print the CPAT Preparation Guide.

Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT): Tuesday, March 21, 2017. (depending upon number of candidates, may also be March 22nd and 23rd.)

Welcome to the Employment Testing Cooperative! We are a group of 12 fire departments in Southwest Florida seeking exceptionally talented, experienced and dedicated firefighters to serve the residents of our fast-growing communities.

Located in coastal Lee County, Florida, the fire departments of the ETC have mutually agreed on one application and one testing process for the positions of firefighter, firefighter/emergency medical technician and firefighter/paramedic. By applying for a firefighter position through the ETC, you will gain access to job openings from 12 fire departments on Florida’s tropical west coast.

The testing process consists of the following: submitting a completed application, completing a written general aptitude test and passing a physical ability test. For more information, click on the Frequently Asked Questions button to the left.

Each of these agencies is growing, and we anticipate tremendous increases in the demand for personnel in the near future. As the populations of Southwest Florida continue to increase, so do our needs for qualified firefighters.
