Once you find the job you want, we need to learn more about you. Step 1 we will evaluate your education, experience, abilities, and knowledge through an examination assessment. Our current examination bulletins can be found HERE. Read the exam bulletin to see the qualifications needed. It will also explain what the job is like, notes the salary range, and gives you an overview of the assessment process. If there is not a current examination being given, but it will be given within the next 9 months, a temporary authorization (TAU) for hire may be considered, allowing you to work in the classification until the examination is given.
Step 2 means you’ve passed the Fire Fighter II (Paramedic) examination assessment and you’re eligible to start applying for the above listed jobs! We can’t wait to add you to the team! How do you apply? Application packages may be submitted electronically through your CalCareer Account at www.jobs.ca.gov. APPLICATIONS SUBMITTED THROUGH FIRECAREERS.COM WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. When submitting your application in hard copy, a completed copy of the Application Package listing must be included. The Standard State Application (Std. 678) can be found HERE. If you choose to not apply electronically, a hard copy application package may be submitted to the address listed below:
