POSITION TITLE: FIRE ENGINEER/INSPECTOR
STARTING SALARY: $37,714
KEY DUTIES: Performs firefighting and fire equipment operational duties, maintains firefighting apparatus, equipment and fire station. Technical work is required in enforcing fire prevention laws, fire inspections, training, fire and rescue operations, and promoting overall fire prevention efforts within the Town.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS: Graduation from high school. NC Firefighter Certification, NC EMT, NC Driver Operator Pumps, NC Emergency Vehicle Driver, NC Haz-Mat Operations, and possession of a valid Class B North Carolina Commercial Driver’s License or obtain prior to commencement of work. Preferred qualifications include: NC Fire Inspections Level I (obtain within one year of hire), NC Driver Operator Aerial, NC Fire Instructor Level I, and CPS Certification (obtain within one year of hire).
