GENERAL SUMMARY: | |
In an effort to maintain a continuous eligibility list for hiring of future positions, the City will be conducting testing on May 17, 2017. Those who pass this process will be considered for an interview on June 21, 2017. Those who pass the interview process will then be will be invited to observe. Entry-level candidates starting salary: $19.46/hour Under the direction of the Communications Supervisor or designee, receives, transmits and records telephone calls, signals and messages related to police, fire and medical emergencies and operates various communications equipment. Subject to working irregular hours, rotating shifts, weekends and holidays, and 24-hour on call in emergency situations. This position requires employees to work in a highly stressful, emergency or multiple simultaneous emergency situations where injury or death of individuals might occur as a result of an error. |

Final selection will be made based on qualifications, skills testing, and an oral board interview process to include observation of 9-1-1 Dispatch. Final candidate(s) will be required to complete and pass a comprehensive integrity interview, background and reference check. Successful candidates who are given conditional offers will also be required to successfully complete and pass fingerprinting, and psychological and physical exam (includes drug/alcohol testing) commensurate to the position. Applicants who pass oral boards will be required to complete a two hour observation prior to being placed on a certification list and must pass initial background check to observe. |
