Firefighter/EMT-B (Paramedic Preferred)

Minimum Education, Experience and Certification

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • EMT-Basic – Paramedic Preferred
  • Texas Commission on Fire Protection Basic Certified Firefighter
  • Valid Texas driver’s license
  • Must be at least 20 years of age at the time of application

Future Requirements Upon Employment

  • State of Texas Class B driver’s license
  • TCFP Driver Operator-Pumper
  • Texas DSHS EMT-Paramedic Certification
  • TCFP Basic Certified Firefighter (If hired with EMT-P certification but no TCFP certification)
