Additional credit with passing grade of 70%: Certified Ohio EMT-Paramedic -5 points; Firefighter I & II (260-Hour Training) -5 points; current experience as Macedonia part-time firefighter with minimum 1-year experience – 5 points; Military service – 5 points. Certifications relative to the above must be on file at the time of written exam. NO EXCEPTIONS
Physical agility test: Cuyahoga Community College (Tri C) Physical Agility Testing Center, Western Campus, giving a test September 25, 2016. Applicant must call Tri-C @ 216-987-5429 or 216-987-5060 to register. Separate fee required by Tri-C. Applicant is solely responsible for submitting current, valid agility certificate from Tri C with qualifying time of 4 minutes / 30 seconds. Agility certificates are valid for 12 months from date of issuance. Valid agility certificate must be provided no later than time of written exam to be eligible to participate in written exam. NO EXCEPTIONS.
Salary: Current starting annual salary is $48,349.51. Benefits include health, vision and dental coverage.
Requirements: high school graduate or equivalent, 18 years of age at time of application, and must possess valid Ohio driver’s license.
Additional requirements: Applicant required to taking psychological, physical & polygraphing tests. Other testing includes EKG, drug screening (periodic drug screening during employment required) background check, and personal interview with appointing authority. Successful applicant required to be a non-tobacco user and remain a non-tobacco user for duration of employment.
