The City of Biddeford is currently accepting applications for the position of Career Firefighter/Paramedic.
Requirements for Career Positions within the Biddeford Fire Department Include: A high school diploma or equivalent, paramedic license (or will be licensed within 2 months of application deadline) and a valid driver’s license.Preferred: Maine State or ProBoard Firefighter I & II certification (Department will provide training up to or to exceed the standard).All selected applicants must pass a background check, physical agility test and a general physical exam.

Applicants must provide the following documents with their application:

  • Current Maine paramedic license or anticipated licensing date
  • Valid driver’s license
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Additional Fire/EMS education certifications
  • Resume

Applications may be obtained by visiting the Biddeford Fire Department or online at www.biddefordmaine.org city departments/human resources/employment applications.  Applications and required documentation must be received by December 2, 2016 at 4:00 PM.

  • Physical agility testing will be held at Biddeford Central Station at 0830 on Saturday, December 10, 2016
  • Oral board interviews will be held at Biddeford Central Station beginning at 0800 on Monday, December 12, 2016. 
  • Chief’s Interviews will be held at Biddeford Central Station beginning at 0900 on Wednesday, December 14, 2016.
