Requirements:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma; GED or equivalent (possessed at time of application for employment).
Associate Degree in fire service-related field is desired.
At least two years of previous firefighter experience with a fire department is desired.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Possess and maintain a valid Driver License during entire course of employment.
State of Wisconsin Certified Firefighter I.
State of Wisconsin Certified Firefighter II.
State of Wisconsin Certified Fire Apparatus Driver Operator-Pumper.
State of Wisconsin Certified Fire Apparatus Driver Operator-Aerial.
State of Wisconsin Certified Fire Inspector.
State of Wisconsin Licensed Emergency Medical Technician – Basic.
National Incident Management System (NIMS) up to and including ICS 100.
Ability to climb ladders and work at considerable heights.
Ability to operate all Verona Fire Department apparatus and equipment, with the exception of T-8 the 1988 Ford with manual transmission.
Ability to work in restrictive clothing and confined spaces.
Ability to wear self-contained breathing apparatus and work in hazardous environments.
Completion of an eighteen (18) month probationary period.
