Requirements.Qualifications of Job:
The most desirable candidates will be the right fit for the seasonal dynamics of Leland Township and they will find Leland Township is the right fit for them. Desirable candidates will live in Leland Township however candidates may maintain residency within fifty (50) miles of either Leland Township Fire Station. The most desirable candidates will be certified/ licensed with Firefighter I & II, Hazardous Materials Operation, and Paramedic at the time of hiring (see below for exception criteria). Education:
Possession of a High School diploma or the equivalent
Licensed by the State of Michigan as a Paramedic. Candidates currently in the NREMT certification/ State of Michigan Licensing processes may apply. Proof of license will be required at time of hire.
Michigan Firefighter I and Firefighter II (or able to obtain within one year).
Michigan – Office of Firefighter Training (OFFT) Hazardous Materials Operations level (or able to obtain within one year). Experience: Experience as a Paramedic and Firefighter preferred. Paramedic license is required at time of hire
Firefighter I & II will be required within one year of employment. Other Requirements:
Possession of State of Michigan drivers license.
Current Basic Life Support Certification
Authorization by Northwest Regional Medical Control Authority to work as a Paramedic within 90 days of hire.
ACLS, PALS, and PHTLS Certification (or able to obtain within 60 days of hire).
Basic computer data entry knowledge helpful
