Fire Chief – Salary Range: $67,808 – $108,472 DOQ

Qualifications

Reporting to the City Manager; performs professional administrative and managerial work directing the Mount Dora Fire Department which performs fire prevention inspections and education, construction plan review, fire suppression, and pre-hospital emergency medical services. Major functions are to provide counsel, executive leadership and administrative assistance to and for the City in all matters of public safety pertaining to fire protection and emergency medical services. A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Public or Business Administration, Organizational Management, Fire Technology, or related field with a minimum of seven (7) years progressive administrative management experience in a fire service agency is required, preferably within a municipal fire administration. State of Florida Certified Public Manager preferred. An equivalent combination of education, related training and experience may be considered. Current Florida Firefighters Certificate as prescribed by the Florida State Bureau of Fire Standards & Training and current EMT or Paramedic (preferred) certifications are required. Current BLS level CPR certification also required. Valid Florida Class D driver license with E endorsement or higher.
